False identities enslaved to a world of pain

For Patanjali, physical control is only a precondition of inner spiritual perfection, which is cultivated by confronting the paradoxical nature of memory and thought itself. His analysis exposes the mechanisms whereby we construct false identities and enslave ourselves to a world of pain. (which is what I did for the first 46 years of my life, as described in Killing Justice).
